Richard Sorger is a London-based fashion designer who founded his eponymous label in 2006. The label sold in the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East, and celebrity clients include Courtney Love, Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Kate Beckinsale, Florence Welch, Rebecca Ferguson and Heidi Klum. In 2009 he launched his second line, RJS by Richard Sorger, with clients including Kelis, Alexandra Burke, Cheryl Cole, Natasha Bedingfield, Alice Dellal, Diane Vickers, Fearne Cotton, Marina and the Diamonds, Sienna Miller, Sarah Harding, Touloula Adeyemi and Jessie J. In 2011 Richard stopped his own labels to concentrate on academic research and freelance design consultancy. Swarovski, the Victoria and Albert Museum, which acquired a dress for its permanent collection, and Andaz Hotel have all commissioned work. He has collaborated with Meadham Kirchhoff, Manolo Blahnik (for Meadham Kirchhoff) and ASOS. Currently Richard is Senior Lecturer in Fashion at Middlesex University and teaches at the London College of Fashion. He is the co-author of ‘The Fundamentals of Fashion’ (AVA Books, 2006, second edition 2012).
