Richard Sorger

Richard Sorger graduated from Middlesex Polytechnic in '91 with a first in Fashion Design. Upon graduating he moved to Milan for eight months to teach fashion design in a private school, before returning to the UK to work for London based designer Abe Hamilton as his design assistant. Richard worked for Abe Hamilton for two years before deciding to concentrate more on teaching fashion design, teaching at various institutions including The London College of Fashion and Middlesex University. From 1999 to 2001 Richard and his then partner Benjamin Kirchhoff had a womenswear label called SorgerKirchhoff, selling in Kokon To Zai London and Paris. Clients included Bjork and Kirsten Dunst. Richard started designing his eponymous label in 2004 and currently sells in Koh Samui in London, L'Eclaireur in Paris and Curve in LA. Celebrity clients include Courtney Love, Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Kate Beckinsale and Heidi Klum. He co-authored the book called 'The Fundamentals of Fashion' published by AVA Books, and he is currently the final year design tutor on the BA (Hons) Fashion Design course at Middlesex University, London.
